Boonmaps is a mapping platform that delivers outdoor adventure tourism information through interactive 3D maps. Boonmaps combines high-resolution aerial imagery, digital elevation data and adventure tourism data to create photorealistic, interactive 3D maps.
Boonmaps are designed to attract tourists to a region and guide them while they visit. All maps can be downloaded from anywhere in the world and can be viewed offline without a network connection. Maps are updatable at anytime through the boonmaps live update API.
Our map customers come from a core group of North America’s top outdoor adventure tourism destinations. Each of them operates a business with a mission to help their visitors into adventures; into the woods, up mountains and far into the great outdoors. Our customers engage us to help them in this vision by building high resolution 3D maps that they can distribute directly to their visitors.
Explore - Navigate - Record
Maps are built using aerial imagery at high resolution down to as low as 50 cm. Imagery is tasked and acquired during a relevant target season.
Maps are custom built specifically for each business. All map content is carefully curated to ensure accuracy.
Boonmaps offers precision navigation tools including GPS location, selective topographic line rendering, time of day terrain shading, distance and elevation calculations and a digital compass.
Maps are downloaded once and used anywhere without the need for a network connection.
Routes can be recorded in 3D and archived within each map. Recorded statistics include route duration, distance, net elevation change and average moving speed.
We make the maps and our clients update them using the boonmaps live update API. End users are notified of map updates through push notifiations and are able to re-synch their maps to the latest content.
We work with you to define a map area and geo-reference map content. We then task the acquisition of high resolution aerial imagery during a target season to combine with 3D topographic data for the area. And finally, we compile the 3D map for distribution through the boonmaps platform.
Next, we distribute your 3D map through the boonmaps mobile application. Boonmaps is available to end-users on Google Play and the App Store. Your visitors can download boonmaps for free and then download a copy of your map before heading out.
With copies of your map now in circulation, you get to takeover and engage with your visitors through publishing your own map updates through the boonmaps API. You can notify your visitors of lift and trail closures and keep them posted on snowfall as it comes down.
